Premium Wine Exchange (PWX) was founded by a group of friends who share an interest in wine. Not considering themselves connoisseurs but more aficionados of wine, the group decided to dabble into the wine business at the request of their friends who would frequently ask them advise about wines and where they could obtain the types of wines members of the group would bring to dinners.

Hence, our initial foray into the wine business features a portfolio of California wines which have just arrived. The collection offers a range of several inexpensive wines up to a couple that may be considered collectible. The wines featured come from small production, low profile unheralded wineries in California. Premium Wine Exchange intends to distinguish itself from the market by offering advice, information and education about wines.

Not a few people are easily intimidated about the mystique of wine. PWX promises to explain the basics of wine in general and details about the wines they will offer. Even though a wine may sell for less than P 1,000 a bottle, it can still offer considerable value when compared to a wine costing up to ten times that price. Of course, the beauty of the wine is in the beholder and a wine that may be appreciated by one, may not necessarily be shared by another. Nevertheless, there will always be common denominators in the fundamentals of a wine owing primarily to the terroir or region where the wine came from as well as the climactic conditions in the vintage year. Even the best wines in the world are subject to the volatility of mother nature. Still the best wine makers are able to salvage a good wine from what could be a difficult season.

“PWX recognized that there is a niche for consumers who wish to learn more about wine and intend to fulfill that niche. While the first arrivals of wine are all Californian, the group intends to diversify into Old World wines (e.g. French and Spanish) as well as other New World wines (e.g. Australian, Argentine and others).”
